About me

PATTERN DESIGNER & CHILDREN’S ILLUSTRATOR FROM ITALY

Hello, I’m Prisca

Born in Rome, I’m now living (and creating) in a tiny Italian town surrounded by hills, nut trees, and one very big happy dog.

I didn’t grow up dreaming of becoming a surface designer—
I just never stopped loving picture books, weird animals, and color palettes found in the most random places.

Before patterns and designs came into my life, I earned a degree in education sciences and spent years leading creative activities for kids in schools and museums in Rome.

That phase taught me a lot—how kids think, laugh, and spot the tiniest details adults often miss.

Later, I launched Pollice di Panda, my first little Italian brand, creating playful activity books and printables for kids.

From there, I illustrated:

  • a travel activity book for White Star Kids
  • a rhyming alphabet book for Giunti, filled with cheeky animals
  • and lots of creative prompts made to spark curiosity

At some point, I realized I wanted my illustrations to live beyond paper—on walls, clothes, and everyday things.
Maybe to help color the world a little, in my own way!

Patterns with a story

Now my days are all about designing surface patterns that end up on fabric, wallpaper, clothing, and fun products.
Some of them are soft and dreamy. Others are bold and loud. All of them are full of stories.

Because to me, a good pattern isn’t just cute—it’s a little world to explore!

Some random facts about me

  • I often pause movies just to save screenshots of great patterns.
  • We have a big rescue dog, Puff. He’s very opinionated about horses!
  • I love space-themed podcasts
  • I used to teach creative classes for kids, and I still keep a drawer full of googly eyes 🙂
